IFSC Code

IFSC stands for Indian Financial System Code which is an alpha-numeric unique code to identify a bank-branch which  participates in NEFT or National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) system or RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) of Reserve Bank of India. The Ifsc code is  a 11 digit code with the first 4 characters representing the bank, and the last 6 characters representing the branch. The 5th character is a 0 (zero).

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSTRC) finally started online booking.

Now anyone can make booking for Kerala Tansport buses on 188 reservable schedules which includes 3 A/C Volvo, 15 A/C, 31 Super Deluxe Air Bus, 26 Super Express, 81 Super Fast, 28 Fast Passenger and 4 Ordinary services.

Kerala Road Transport has started 11 Online reservation counters in various centers like Trivandrum Central, Kottarakkara, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Kannur, Bangalore Satellite, Bangalore Magestic and Coimbatore.

You can book  online reservation anytime over the internet until one hour before the departure of the bus. You can make payment through credit/debit cards only. In the website you can find out the seat availability, timetable etc.

Even though the online ticket booking interface is easy, the Kerala transport website need to be improved.

Many of the NRI parents will be looking for admission to Engineering Colleges in India.
There is a separate window of opportunity available to NRI students outside the Entrance exam route. The Government of India has designed a scheme called DASA (Direct Admission to Students Abroad).
This scheme is open for Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian origin/Non-Resident Indians. Under this Scheme, 2204 seats are made available to NRI students in 31 reputed Govt. Engineering Colleges across India, including 24 NIT’s situated in each State.  The NIT for Kerala is situated in Calicut.
The eligibility criteria for admission under the scheme is 60% aggregate marks in Plus Two or equivalent and a valid SAT – II (Scholastic Aptitude Test-II) score. In the case of NRI’s, the student should have studied abroad at least for 3 years in the last 6 years and passed  Plus Two from abroad

The co-ordination for the admission under the DASA scheme is entrusted to NITK (National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, Karnataka).  The prescribed tuition fee is US$ 4,000 per year.  The last date for online application for academic year 2010-11 is 30th June 2010.  The contact details of the co-ordinating agency NITK are given below:-

Are you a SBI card holder and want to redeem sbi card reward points? By the way, don’t get into credit card debt for reward points. Basically,all credit card reward points are a marketing ploy for the gullible. Compared to the cost you have to pay, they pay peanuts. For Rs.1oo you get one point. It is acutally not worth.

Now you can make ksrtc booking 30 days in advance. Earlier ksrtc tickets could only be booked in 15 days  advance. Now this new facility will help the travellers who use ksrtc online booking or ksrtc reservation counters to plan their travel in advance.  This is a good move by the KSRTC understanding the needs of the travellers and also to build cash reserve.

BSNL is launching 3G services from Feb 2O in Bangalore. Currently, BSNL and MTNL are the only 3G providers in India. So here is how you can get BSNL 3G services.

If you have a BSNL connection and if your mobile handset has 3G facility, then you can access 3G services.You can activate BSNL 3G service by sending SMS M3G to 53733 and after the message you will get another message for confirmation. Send  M3G Y to 53733. BSNL gives the option to continue with existing 2G sim, yet access 3G. Or you can opt for new 3G GSM by paying extra Rs.59. The number willn’t change. BSNL is promising the 3g speed upto 3-6Mbps. There are Postpaid, Prepaid, Data plans and tariff for 3G connection. BSNL is also offering special promotional tariff and rates to attract more 2G users to 3G.
